Bolivia’s Death Road Survivor (5 days)

This first day we start in our place (downtown Cusco), where our guide and the motorcycles will be ready for the trip, to get to Lake Titicaca, we will use the main highway that goes to the city of Puno, passing through the town of Oropesa famous city for its Chuta breads, we will arrive at Rumicolca, the entrance and exit gateway of Cusco where we will make a short stop with its beautiful Inca architecture, we will continue along the main road to Sicuani, where we will have a delicious lunch.

Then we will continue to Raya, well known for its hot springs, in 1 hour we will arrive at Ayaviri, famous for its Kankacho: exquisite grilled lamb meat, we will continue to Pukara, famous for its good luck bulls, and Juliaca, a city full of a lot of trade, after another hour we will arrive in Puno, where we will rest on the shores of Titicaca.

This adventure can be before the first day or after the last day, the tour begins with the pickup from your hotel in Cusco, and then go to the Ollantaytambo train station located 1 hour from Cusco, where you will board the train that will take you to Aguas Calientes, the duration of the train journey is 2 hours.

At the Aguas Calientes train station, our guide will be waiting for you to take you to the bus station, and then travel for 30 minutes by bus to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary, after entering the Inca City of Machu Picchu, the guide It will begin with the guided tour of the main attractions, then you will return to the town of Aguas Calientes where you can have lunch (lunch not included), after lunch you will have to board the train to Ollantaytambo, in Ollantaytambo our transportation to Cusco will wait for you.

We leave the city of Puno and almost next to Lake Titicaca we go to Desaguadero Control, Desaguadero is a border control with the neighboring country of Bolivia, already in Bolivia we go to Tiawanaco, Tiawanaco is an immense pre-Inca city, for many authors after the decline of the Tiawanaco culture, the town found itself in a great apocalypse, which made its ruling elite flee to the Peruvian side, this ruling elite would later come to form the Incas, after the guide we will have a delicious Bolivian lunch to then continue to La Paz, where we will spend the night.

After breakfast we go to the Bolivian Yungas, the road is paved until the entrance gate to the death road, the total distance of the death road is about 80 kilometers, with ravines of up to 800 meters, some parts of the road are only 3 meters wide, added to this the fog and the rain make this road even more dangerous, the road has incredible views at the same time chilling, we will have lunch in Coroico, Coroico is already a village in the Bolivian jungle , after lunch we will have our revenge, we will use the same path to return to La Paz, where we will have dinner and spend the night.

We will leave Bolivia to return to Peru, we will use the same way we went, we will be more confident with the way, during the tour we will be able to make stops to take photos with the highest navigable lake in the world, observe its beautiful landscapes, in the afternoon we will arrive at Puno, where we must recharge for the next day’s tour, lunch will be in Desaguadero or Tiahuanaco.

For lunch we will return to the city of Puno, in the afternoon we will go on our motorcycles, to the Sillustani chullpas, pre-Inca cemeteries belonging to the Colla culture, its architecture is unique in the world, it is worth visiting, the night we will spend in Puno.
