We ride through the Sacred Valley, and on the very first day—under the blazing midday sun—we face the thrilling challenge of crossing the mighty Eastern Mountain Range. Towering above us, the snow-capped Verónica Mountain stands like a guardian, its glaciers feeding life into the lush green below.
As we descend, the landscape transforms. Coffee plantations, banana groves, mango trees, and orange orchards line the route, painting the scenery with color and vitality. We wind through deep canyons and past some of the best natural hot springs in the region, soaking in landscapes so breathtaking they seem unreal.
Every mile is a story, every turn a new discovery. This isn’t just a journey—it’s a full-throttle ride into the heart of nature and culture. And at the end of the road, our dream destination awaits: the legendary Machu Picchu.

We fire up the engines at dawn and leave Cusco behind, chasing the rising sun into the Sacred Valley. In just under an hour, we roll into Ollantaytambo—a powerful place carved into stone and history. We take a break here for a cultural deep dive and some epic photos before the real ride begins.
Next up: the climb to Abra Málaga—a high-altitude beast with tight, zigzagging curves that push both rider and machine. At 4,315 meters (14,160 ft) above sea level, it’s cold, raw, and unforgettable. From the top, we drop fast into the lush chaos of the high jungle—a descent from icy peaks to steamy green at 1,100 meters.
We refuel with lunch surrounded by jungle sounds, then it’s time to hit the dirt. The ride to Santa Teresa is no joke—rough roads, wild cliffs, and landscapes that make you stop just to breathe it in. Coffee plantations, fruit trees, waterfalls—it’s Peru in its rawest form. And yeah, the best hot springs in the country are here too. After about 90 minutes, we pull into Santa Teresa.
This is where the ride pauses. We stash the bikes and gear we won’t need, then jump into a taxi toward the Hidroeléctrica train station. At 4:30 p.m., the train rolls out, cutting through deep green to Aguas Calientes. We wrap the day with a hot meal and a soft bed—resting up for what comes next.
Because tomorrow… we hit Machu Picchu.
After an early breakfast, we jump on the first bus out of Aguas Calientes, climbing through the misty jungle for 30 minutes until we reach the legendary Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.
And then—it hits you.
We walk through the stone gates of the Inca City, and it’s like stepping into another world. With our guide leading the way, we explore the ancient heart of this lost civilization: the Guardian’s House, the Temple of the Sun, the mystical Intiwatana, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Sacred Plaza, the Temple of the Condor, and the iconic Sacred Rock.
Once the tour ends, we get some solo time—just us, the ruins, and the camera. This is the moment to soak it all in. No filters, no distractions. Just history, mountains, and that electric feeling of having made it here the hard way.
Around midday, we ride the train back to Santa Teresa, where a solid lunch is waiting for us. But the day’s not over—not even close.
In the afternoon, we kick things up a notch. For the brave, there’s ziplining over the jungle canopy—speed, height, and insane views. And after that rush? We wind down in the natural hot springs of Cocalmayo, surrounded by wild nature and the sounds of the river. The perfect reset after two epic days.
We crash for the night in Santa Teresa, recharged and ready for whatever the road throws at us next.
At sunrise, the engines are ready and roaring. After fueling up with a solid breakfast—local coffee fresh from the source—we saddle up and hit the road. Today’s ride is our revenge mission against the mighty Eastern Andes.
The ascent begins. The same mountain range we descended just days ago now rises before us again—but this time, we take it on with more grit, more stories, and more dust on our boots. The landscapes are still jaw-dropping: towering peaks, winding roads, endless sky.
After around three hours of throttle therapy, we roll back into Ollantaytambo. This ancient Inca town welcomes us with a well-earned lunch to refuel our bodies and bikes.
But the adventure doesn’t stop there.
From Ollantaytambo, we take a scenic shortcut to Moray—an otherworldly circular archaeological site that feels like a portal in the Andes. Our guide brings it to life, explaining its mysteries and purpose.
If time is on our side, we twist the throttle once more and dive into the red dirt roads of Maras—pure off-road heaven. We carve our way to the Salineras de Maras, a surreal pre-Inca salt mine etched into the mountainside. The view? Absolutely next-level.
As the sun starts to drop, we ride back into Cusco, hearts full, bikes dirty, and minds still spinning from everything we’ve seen and conquered.
Estimated arrival: 6:00 p.m. But trust us—this ride stays with you way beyond that.
