Overview

This tour is a high altitude adventure, as we will visit the rainbow mountain which is at (5,080 masl) and we will also have enough time to visit the incredible red valley, its dreamy colors, red hills make it difficult to leave it behind, the next stop point It will be in the Sibinacocha lagoon (4800 masl), which is surrounded by immense snow-capped mountains, the landscape here is unique but our main objective is the largest tropical glacier in the world that is extinct with each passing day, it is believed that in 30 years it will cease to exist, ceasing to give sustenance to the lower lands, its 200-meter-thick ice cap will amaze us, this glacier has an area of approximately 44 km2, and its highest ridge is at (5600 masl).

Itinerary

Day 1Cusco - Rainbow Mountain - Red Valley - Phinaya: 200 km / 5h riding

We leave Cusco early, and we go along the main road heading south, after 2 hours of travel we will have breakfast in Pitumarca, from this point an unpaved zigzagging road begins, then we will continue until we reach Kayrawiri (4700msnm), at this point we prepare for the walk of about 30 minutes to the mountain of 7 colors (5080msnm), once at the top of this mountain our guide will explain a little more about its beautiful colors after our photos we go to the other side of the mountain of seven colors, 10 minutes away we will find a flat road that in 20 minutes will take us to the impressive red valley, after our guide explains us in detail and gives us enough time to take photos, we will return by the same path. . Once with the motorcycles we will continue for 2 more hours until we reach the Sibinacocha lagoon, where we will have an energetic and delicious lunch, we will spend the night in the town of Phinaya (4850msnm).

Day 2Phinaya - Glaciar Quelcaya - Phinaya: 100 km / 3h riding

We start from Phinaya by motorcycle, previously we must leave the things that we do not need, because this day we will do a short walk of 1 hour round trip, reached our objective we will find an immense wall of approximately 200 meters, in this beautiful place we will have enough time to explore this beautiful snow-capped mountain, it is believed that due to global warming this precious jewel of the Andes will disappear in less than 30 years, which is very worrying because this immense snow-capped mountain is the headwaters of the Amazon, from snow-capped mountains like this one is born life, due to their superb appearance the Incas considered them Gods. After the view we will return to the shores of Laguna Sibinacocha, where we will have lunch and spend the night.

EXTRA A: Optional (01 additional day): PHINAYA-STONE FOREST GOTHIC CITY- PHINAYA:180 KM/4H RIDING

A worthwhile option would be to visit the most amazing stone forest in the world, its towers are so impressive that it seems that it was carved by God, each shape of its stones makes it seem that it is a Gothic city, to visit it we must start from Phinaya heading to Macusani, along a route between alpacas and llamas and through unique and unrepeatable landscapes in approx. 2h we will arrive at this majestic Forest, after our visit we must return to Phinaya, where we will spend the night.

Day 3Phinaya - Pitumarca - Checacupe - Cusco: 190 km / 5h riding

We say goodbye to Phinaya and along the route we already know we go to Cusco, arriving at Checacupe we will make a stop to visit its 03 beautiful bridges (Inca-Colonial-Republican), we will see how the architecture changed over the years, it will be very interesting to take photos with this beautiful landscape, this last day our lunch will be in Cusipata and after 2 more hours we will arrive at the navel of the world, the city of Cusco, capital of the Tawantinsuyo Quechua, where the service will end.
